Man, my new bird is a little attitude with grey feathers. My boyfriend TOTALLY did NOT listen to me about him, so we had a nice fly around my office after we got the shipping box open (WHICH WAS EXCELLENT). Then I got him in one of my shirts and clipped his wing, just a standard for all of my new parrots before they go into a cage. I got bit. Josh got bit. Into the cage new guy went. But he's already taking millet if I offer it to him (he is near my female cockatiel, Olivia, who is like the female squirrel in Sword in the Stone where she JUST IS SO FASCINATED, but I promise they're not together---just across the room from each other). I'm going let him destress for three days and then try to work with him. I really love the prices of the cockatiels on this website. I think when I bought Olivia at the pet store; she was $150? Axel (because he is a total rockstar with a sharp beak) was a little more because of the shipping box, but I honestly do not mind. He played with toys and chirped like crazy at Olivia. I think he's going to fit right in with my pets. I'm docking a star because of the metal band on his leg--I have no idea how I'm going to get that off him. It's aggravating him, but I understand why The Finch Farm might do it. I'm wondering if I can find an avian vet around here to get the band off his leg.
