Description: Known as The Good Luck Bird, the Java Rice Finch originates from Asia, but has since been introduced into many locations. In captivity, it is gregarious and long-lived. Once considered pests to the rice fields, hence their name, java rice finches are now a popular choice for many avian enthusiasts.They are calm but intimidating due to their stature, and approximately 5-6" from beak to tip of tail, making them suitable with the more assertive finches.
